Getting Married
Sacrament of Matrimony
Marriage between two baptized is called a sacrament, a sign of God’s love for humanity and Christ’s love for the Church. The grace of the sacrament of marriage strengthens and supports married couples. It is not a magic wand that takes away all difficulties but a free gift from God that perfects the love of husbands and wives for each other so that it might reflect the love Christ has for his Church.
A marriage between a baptized and a non-baptized is non-sacramental but equally accepted and blessed by God.
