Children’s Liturgy
CDM’s Children’s Liturgy Ministry was set up in June 2011 with the aim “To sow the seeds of His Word and to meet and experience God’s love in the Liturgy”. The Ministry’s main role is to bring the Word of God to children, at a level and approach which will enable them to come to a fuller and more active participating in Mass. The Children’s Liturgy follows a similar outline as the Liturgy of the Word in the main church and is celebrated at the same time with the parish community.
The children will leave the main church to proceed to the Chapel immediately after the opening hymn. Facilitated by a trained Adult Leader, the children will sing, pray together and listen to simplified scriptures. There is a short homily and reflection of the Gospel message followed by the children’s creed and prayer of the faithful. Thereafter, they will rejoin their parents at the main church just before the offertory.
Children’s Liturgy is held in conjunction with the Saturday Sunset 5:30pm, Sunday, 9am, 11:30am and 5:30pm Masses and is suitable for children of ages 5-9 years of age.
