May the Lord be in our hearts,
on our minds, and on our lips,
that we may worthily proclaim his Word.

PROCLAIM GOD’S WORD

Our Mission

To proclaim God’s Word with sincerity and reverence to inspire the faithful to conceive in their hearts God’s love and will for them.

The CDM Lector Ministry is committed to serve the Lord and the CDM community. Through our weekly Breaking of the Word sessions, our annual Advent and Lenten preparations, we pray, reflect and seek to have a deeper connection with God.  In our social gatherings, we get to know each other better. As we share our faith and our lives, we grow in our journey together as a family of God.

Lector Comissioning

On Word of God Sunday celebrated on January 25, 2026, the parish gathered in a special way to celebrate the living Word and those who proclaim it at the 1130am mass. More than forty lectors stood together to be commissioned, a sign of shared faith and service. Among them were six new lectors who had joined the ministry in the last few months, answering God’s call with generous hearts. The youngest, just thirteen years old, stood proudly among seasoned readers, a beautiful reminder that the Word of God speaks through every generation.
As Fr Damian led the blessing, there was a sense of joy and responsibility as these lectors reflected on how they were not simply readers of text, but servants entrusted to proclaim God’s message clearly, prayerfully, and with love.
After the Mass, the celebration continued at St Faustina’s room where the lectors gathered for fellowship, sharing yummy food and sweet treats they had lovingly contributed. It was a time to connect, welcome new members, and give thanks—not only for the ministry, but for the community that helps to make it grow and remain humble in service. Everyone left with full hearts, full plates (and takeaways) – renewed and committed to serving the Word together.

Lectors' Day of Recollection

Our LectorsLenten Day of Recollection, animated by the Verbum Dei Missionary Fraternity Sisters Leticia Lopez and Monika Punan on Feb 28, was a grace-filled gathering centered on the theme, Called to listen, Sent to proclaim. With 24 participants, including two members from our Biblical Apostolate Ministry, the morning invited us to rediscover Lent as a sacred time to make space for God in our busy lives.

Through Lectio Divina, we prayerfully reflected on Jesusencounter with Zacchaeus (Luke 19:110), reminded that we too are personally called to welcome Him and allow our hearts to be transformed. Like Zacchaeus, Lent challenges us to respond with concrete change and renewed generosity.

After a short break, the atmosphere turned lively with a fun quiz of Biblical verses, testing our knowledge while increasing our appreciation of Scripture.

The morning continued with a reflection on Jesus and the Samaritan woman (John 4:442). In prayer, we discerned Gods message for us and how, like her, we are sent to proclaim His Word with courage and conviction.

Concluding with guided prayer, we entrusted ourselves to God, committing to sow seeds of faith. Lent can indeed be life-changing when we allow God to transform us.
