About Marriage Partners

In our parish the Marriage Partners are a group of married couples who assist couples with their wedding liturgy and with the arrangements for the wedding day so that it is a memorable day for the couple and their families.

Contact

We will contact the couple 3 to 6 months before their wedding, meet them and listen to their plans for their wedding.
During the course of the journey with the couple, we try to share with them the significance of a Catholic marriage.

The Wedding Liturgy

As we assist them in the selection of their Scripture passages, we also liaise with the choir for their hymns and thereafter with the AV team to prepare the slides.

A Rehearsal

A rehearsal is quite necessary for the couple and we encourage them to ask their family members and friends to assist them be lectors, animators and ushers on the big day. We aim to impress on the couple the significance of the vows and encourage them to memorize the words.

The Wedding Day

“This is the day that the Lord has made” for the couple.
We know how important this day is and we make every effort to keep everything running smoothly.

Keeping in touch after the wedding.

Not all the couples who get married in Divine Mercy continue as parishioners here. We try to keep in touch with them as we are aware that the support for newly-weds is important to help them through the myriad of decisions they have to make as a couple.

Invitation 

If you enjoy meeting other people or couples; and have a desire to assist couples during the preparation of their wedding and an openness to adapt to the needs of different couples (while maintaining the dignity and sanctity of a church wedding), please contact us and we and our Spiritual Director can get to know you.

Once you are onboard, we will provide on-the-job training.
