Biblical Apostolate

About Us

Our Logo:

Embodying the mission of the Biblical Apostolate, our logo features a wooden cross at its heart, symbolising the foundation of our faith.

Surrounding it, an open Bible reveals red and blue pages, evoking the blood and water of Divine Mercy as well as the apostolate’s focus on the teachings of Christ and the Holy Scriptures.

The circular emblem transitioning from red to blue signifies from the blood of Jesus to the water of baptism, transformation and zeal, urging members to share the Gospel to all nations.

Our Vision:

The vision for a biblical apostolate within the Church of Divine Mercy envisions a community of intentional disciples deeply rooted in God’s Word, living out the message of Divine Mercy, and transforming lives through the love and teachings of Jesus Christ.

We aim to spread the Gospel through the systematic study of the Bible, discipleship formation, and evangelisation, empowering individuals to live out the message of Divine Mercy in their daily lives.

To deepen the spiritual journey of believers involves fostering a more profound and intimate relationship with God, nurturing spiritual growth, and promoting a lived faith. Here are some suggestions and resources to help believers to deepen their spiritual journey:

Displayed different languages of the bible at the foyer:

  • To show the universality of our faith;
  • A bible was put in the same place at the Christmas crib where Baby Jesus was laid. The bible verse John 1:14, “and the Word became flesh” was put up also for reflection.
  • A golden thread ran from the top bible to the lower bible – opening at Micah 5:2 and Matthew 18:23 respectively with the intention to link the prophesy of the birth of Jesus Christ and the continuity of the Old Testament to the New Testament.
  • A golden cloth was used to cover the tables, changing the whole place to a throne-like seat as it is for our King Jesus!

Screened the movie “The Case for Christ”

  • This is a dramatic true story of how investigative journalist Lee Strobel, legal editor at the Chicago Tribune, takes on the challenge of examining the historical evidence surrounding Jesus, subjecting it to legal scrutiny as he would any other case. It is based on the worldwide best-selling book by Lee Strobel that that invites one to explore the evidence for themselves: Is there a rock-solid case for Christ’s existence, crucifixion and resurrection — or not?

  •  A reflection guide was also provided after the movie for further reflection.

Displayed the different scenes in the Bible at the foyer.

These scenes are images from stained glass.

Why Stained Glass?

  • Stained glass windows are aesthetically pleasing, but they also hold a deeper meaning. The colours and imagery used in stained glass windows are often symbolic of different aspects of the Christian faith.

  • Light is a common spiritual theme in Christian theology. In Genesis, God’s first words at creation were, “‘Let there be light; and there was light. And God saw that the light was good” (Genesis 1:3-4).

  • Another essential aspect of stained glass windows is how light shines through them. The light that passes through stained glass windows is often seen as a symbol of the divine light of God. This light can represent many different things, such as hope, truth, love, and life.

  • It’s also a symbol of Christ himself, as he identifies himself with light, saying, “I am the light of the world; he who follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life” (John 8:12).

Word of God Quiz on the different scenes of the Bible that were displayed at the foyer

  • For the parishioners to have a deeper understanding of the different scenes in the bible and to inject some fun to the project.

  • Prizes were also given away with Morsbags as wrappers.

  • We choose to use Morsbags to wrap our prizes in alignment with Pope Francis’s Laudato Si, promoting environmental responsibility. This decision reflects the biblical principle found in Genesis 2:15, emphasizing our role as stewards of the Earth. Moreover, the act of wrapping prizes with Morsbags echoes the spirit of generosity, as highlighted in Proverbs 11:25. The prizes themselves, generously donated by kind individuals, further embody the shared commitment to both environmental conservation and acts of kindness.

Blessing of Bibles

• Blessings of family and personal Bibles at each Sunday of the Word of God mass.

Unlocking the Mystery of the Bible is the starting point of The Great Adventure Catholic Bible Study Program. In 8 compelling videos, Jeff Cavins presents the story of salvation history from Creation and the Fall through the coming of Christ and the establishment of the Church. In this study, you will learn the story with the aid of an easy-to-use, color coded Bible Timeline Chart and small group discussion questions, which reinforce the video presentations and help you apply the message to your life.

Many people want to read the Bible because they know it is God’s Word, but they give up because it seems so complicated. Unlocking the Mystery of the Bible helps you to get the “big picture” of the Bible by showing how fourteen narrative books of the Bible tell the complete story from Adam and Eve to Christ and the Church.
