Collection of old palms – Please note that the parish will not be collecting old palms this year. Please do not leave your old palms in the church premises.
As we begin this Lenten season, let us also remember that the Lord calls us to love him with all our hearts, with all our soul, with all our mind and to love our neighbour. Our observance of Lent should lead us towards others as well.
The act of putting on ashes symbolises our mortality and our dependence on God’s mercy, and reminds us of the attitude of penance to which we are called during Lent. The smudge of ash on our foreheads speaks to our yearning to grow closer to Christ, knowing that in him there is eternal life.
